Analysis of Crony Capitalism in America, "... corruption of the public and private sectors which touches nearly every aspect of law and regulation, serving to enrich the well-connected and immunize them from the consequences of their actions." Although published by the Heritage Foundation, it appears to take a balanced approach, acknowledging the corrupt influence of big business along with the complicity of the government.
This 192 page online book highlights the interaction of big business and government in promoting and sustaining the wealthy and well connected at the expense of working people and small business entrepreneurs. It looks at the labor market, energy, education, healthcare, regulation, bailouts, welfare, wasteful government spending, personal liberty and foreign policy.

Excellent data on the economic progress of the European countries. Of particular interest is the dramatic growth of Ireland's 6% GDP growth for the year ending Sept 30, 2014 which is double the next best European countries and quadruple Germany's. And yet Paul Krugman railed against Ireland's austerity measures in 2012 as destructive.

"Economic equality in a free society is a mirage that redistributionists envision—and too often are willing to shed both blood and treasure to accomplish. But free people are different people, so it should not come as a surprise that they earn different incomes. Our talents and abilities are not identical. We don’t all work as hard. And even if we all were magically made equal in wealth tonight, we’d be unequal in the morning because some of us would spend it and some of us would save it."
To produce economic equality, governments must force people to stop working harder than the next guy, quit coming up with new ideas and taking risks. That is, quit being human. People obsessed with economic equality become envious and covet. For them, society is divided into villains and victims. And when they gain control of government, they don’t just “call the cops, they are the cops.”

There were at least 19 times that the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations have destroyed records or refused to disclose them in spite of Freedom of Information Act suits and judicial orders. These incidents almost all revolved around white house scandals.

Quote from following link - vilifying the legal, orderly pro-life promoters who were attacked and robbed by a liberal professor on campus: "Michael Young, the (UCSB)Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs sent out a school-wide email ...“we are tested once again, outsiders coming into our midst to provoke us, to taunt us and attempt to turn us against one another as they promote personal causes and agendas.” !!!! Could he really hold such a divisive, biased view? Apparently.

If men were like ants, uniform and interchangeable, who would care if they died. The glory of the human race is the uniqueness of each individual. Because men are unique, they need freedom to develop their own personality and abilities. Centrally planned societies stifle individuality trying to force the masses into a uniform subservient mold. Freedom is a necessary condition for the development of the individual. But society must also be developed.

The American Medical Association, which previously supported the Affordable Patient Care Act, now warns that one of its provisions could hurt doctors. This provision prevents patients from losing insurance coverage for 90 days after not paying premiums, but insurers are only responsible to pay medical fees for the first 30 days, leaving providers responsible for paying for care provided the last 60 days.

Coast Guard budget Cuts of 25% are making it harder to patrol and regulate over 95,000 miles of coast, making it easier for drug cartels to smuggle drugs via sea routes and causing a shift from land to see transportation.

A $2.3 million wind turbine was built in 2009 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in St Cloud, Minnesota as part of the federal stimulus project to promote green energy. It now stands unused and nonfunctional, showing that government stimulus is not an efficient way to promote economic growth, productivity or innovation.

Brilliant author George Gilder debunks the media's pervasive "evil capitalist" depiction by explaining how entrepreneurs can only succeed by competing to enrich the consumer, and how they will actually fail by being "greedy". In the free market, market self interest is actually served by altruism and by building ever better consumer products. A free market is thus the only system capable of producing the prosperity we all crave.

Steve Lafleur writes in "Elysium” Got the Future of Humanity All Wrong, "… technology isn't something simply the wealthy enjoy. As American industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie once put it, "capitalism is about turning luxuries into necessities." If you're scoffing at this quote, remember: you are reading this for free through a magical box that cost a few hundred dollars.

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children’s children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.

Social engineering (security) is a term used to describe ways people manipulate others into divulging security information they would otherwise not share. It can be used to trick into changing passwords or banks giving out account numbers etc. One method is to create a story that make the person you are trying to get information from believe your are in desperate straights and they need to bend the rules.

The trouble with complete security is its drab monotony. A life without the impetus of work and struggle is only half a life, and most of us would settle down to complete inertia if we did not have to work to eat.
